The Amazing Way of Children
As I was driving to go eat lunch this past Sunday with my husband, I started thinking of something that I thought was kind of a neat post for the blogging world to read!! Not really, probably just May-May and Big Josh to read!! haha... Anywho, as I was driving I began to think of all the ways that we change when a baby is in the picture. On my side of the family, we only have one niece/granddaughter for the time being... Montana. Before Montana arrived, everyone was referred to by the REAL name. It is amazing to me that once she was born and reached the age of really understanding what we were saying and repeating and calling us our "NICKNAMES" how we all-of-a-sudden changed with her....well not so much the men, but my mom, me and amanda anyways!! hehehe.. I no longer refer to anyone in my family by their REAL name, whether Tana is around or not and while I was driving I realized neither does my mom or Amanda. I am no longer Jessi or Jess, I am permanently JJ...Amanda is May-May...Mom is MawMaw... Jack is Papa.... Josh is Big Josh... Jeremy is Daddy (that is the strangest of them all cuz he isn't my daddy!!) ... and Jourdan is Ju-Ju----I find it rather amazing how a child can change us so much that whether they are around or not we (the women!!) continue to refer to each other by our NICKNAMES!!! It just simply amazes me that they have this power of our thinking much to their unknowing minds!! Anywho, on this note, I also wonder why it is only the women who seem to partake in this role and not the men... When Tana is around the men refer to everyone by their NICKNAMES, but when she isn't around, we are called by our REAL names??? This is completely baffling to me...Anyways... just thought I would put those thoughts out there....
